Two giant gas tankers performed u-turns just miles from the Panama Canal, where months of low rainfall is snarling traffic and bringing chaos to the vital waterway. The Pyxis Pioneer and the Sunny Bright, which between them can transport roughly 158,000 cubic meters of liquefied petroleum gas, both got to within about 10 miles (16 kilometers) of the canal in recent days before sailing away, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg.
